Sivin-Child's national conferences

Once a year Sivin-Child research programme arrange a national conference for researchers and practioners to meet and exchange knowledge and experiences. During the four years of the researchprogramme we have invited to four conferences and now in our fifth year we will invitate to another national conference which will take place on the 7th of October 2024. Below you find information on past conferences.

Conference 2023

National conference with a focus on collaboration in coordinated interventions against violence against children and adults in close relationships.

 

On International Children's Day, October 2, our fourth national conference was held. Just over 300 registered participants had the opportunity to listen to lectures by, among others, Birgitta Persdotter at Karlstad University who talked about the SAVE study.

The participants also learned about the IGOR project.

During the afternoon of the conference, the participants were offered to listen to 22 parallel seminars.

At the seminars, knowledge was presented about interventions against violence and also about children and young people's experiences of violence in close relationships.

Conference 2022

National conference with focus on coordinated interventions against domestic violence.

On October 3, again on International Children's Day, we at Sivin-Barn invited to a national digital free conference.

During the morning, 700 registered participants were able to listen to lectures by, among others, Cathy Humphries from the University of Melbourne, who spoke on the topic of listening to children.

The participants also learned about the dilemmas in the social service's support for women exposed to violence, as well as an appreciated panel discussion on cooperation.

Conference 2021

National conference with focus on practices and methods within social work for children and adults affected by domestic violence


The research-programme's second national conference was held on the interantional children's day on the 4th of October 2021.

Just over 600 participants had during the morning session the opportunity to listen to lectures on violence during the Covid-19 pandemic, children's experience of parental stalking, traumafocused treatment and the dynamic between practice and research.

In the afternoon the participants were invited to 19 parallel seminars. During the seminars presentations included topics such as knowelege on interventions against violence as well as children and young peoples experience of violence in close relationships.

Conference 2020

National conference with focus on knowledge on methods and practices within social work for children and adults affected by domestic violence

On the 5th of October 2020 Sivin-Child's first national conference was held in cooperation with National association in social work. (CSA).

Participants could listen to lecturs by Marianne hester, Carl-Göran Svedin, Margareta Hydén and Mikael Thörn.

In the afternoon 500 participants could take part in 21 parallel seminars. In the seminars researchers and practioners presented projects on how children and young people suffer from domestic violence and what kind of methods and interventions are used to relieve the suffering.
