Annual Reports

2023

We are now more than halfway through the research program. In year 4, many exciting things have happened again, below you can take part in some things that happened in 2023.

The second half of the program has begun!

During the year, several projects have been completed and reported. NOW the dissemination of these results begins.

The projects that are now being completed and where we are in the process of writing reports and articles to communicate our results are: Specialized teams to work with violence in close relationships, BRA conversations for children in unsafe living conditions, iRiSk acute assessments of risk and protection - a pilot study, iRiSk feasibility and usability, Implementation of crisis interventions after a police report or report of concern to social services.

During the year, a number of new projects were also started, including two exciting postdoc projects. For more information about the program's projects and links to published results. See our website which you can find at www.mchs.se.

The program's fourth national conference

On International Children's Day, October 2, our fourth national conference was held.

Just over 300 registered participants had the opportunity to listen to lectures by, among others, Birgitta Persdotter at Karlstad University who talked about the SAVE study.

The participants also learned about the IGOR project. During the afternoon of the conference, the participants were offered to listen to 22 parallel seminars.

At the seminars, knowledge was presented about interventions against violence and also about children and young people's experiences of violence in close relationships.

Research in 4 minutes

We have now started work on presenting our research results in shorter films of 4 min.

These films will be published in our YouTube channel, where those who are interested can get a first insight into the knowledge about coordinated interventions regarding violence in intimate relationships that our research program has found through our various research projects. Stay tuned during the spring on our YouTube.

2022

We have now reached the end of the research program's third year. Many exciting things have happened in year 3, below you can find out about some things that happened in 2022.

Now halfway through the program!

The fact that we have completed half the program time can be seen in the fact that we are now in a phase where we finish certain projects at the same time as we start new projects.

Intensive work is now underway to start up work packages that will run during the program's second period, as well as, of course, further work with the projects that run through all 6 years.

The program's third national conference

On International Children's Day, October 3, our third national conference was held.

During the morning, 700 registered participants were able to listen to lectures by, among others, Cathy Humphries from the University of Melbourne, who spoke on the topic of listening to children.

The participants also learned about the dilemmas in the social service's support for women exposed to violence, as well as an appreciated panel discussion on cooperation.

During the afternoon of the conference, the participants were offered to listen to 22 parallel seminars.

At the seminars, knowledge was presented about interventions against violence and also about children and young people's experiences of violence in close relationships.

Our own unique illustrations

We are very happy to tell you that in collaboration with the renowned illustrator and artist Tyra von Zweigbergk we have produced a number of Sivin-Barn illustrations that help us communicate the results of our research and studies.

Over the years, Tyra has done many exciting collaborations with, among others, Ikea, so we are incredibly happy that she wanted to collaborate with us. You can see some of our new illustrations here on the website.

2021

We have now reach the end of our second year. year 2 has been as eventful as our first year. Below you can read about some of things that has happened during 2021.

Data gathering and first analysis.

The research programme's second year has been a year of data gathering and the commencement of some initial analysis.

During the researchprogramme's second year our reserachers has work on collection data for our different researchprojects. The knowledge base has been charted within the different work packages area of focus and some intital data analysis has started.

The programme has also added an additional workpackage some the programme does now contain 14 different workpackages. The new work-package is a new project on the method iRiSk.

The programme's second national conference.

In the mission to communicate knowledge about the research area, conferences are an important part and in 2021 we have carried out the program's second conference.

On International Children's Day, October 4, our second national conference was held. During the morning, the roughly 600 participants listened to lectures about violence during the Covid pandemic, children's experiences of parental stalking, trauma-focused treatment and the dynamics between practice and research.

During the afternoon of the conference, the participants were offered to listen to 19 parallel seminars. At the seminars, knowledge was presented about interventions against violence and also about children and young people's experiences of violence in intimate relationships.

Presenting research in short films

An important priority in our research program is to communicate the results of the research to the people it affects.

An important priority in our research program is to communicate the results of the research to the people it affects.

One way to do this is to produce short films that can be shared on social media. During the year, we produced 3 films. One that presents the research program as a whole. An animated film that is aimed specifically at children and tells what our research is about and what a researcher in our program does.

We have also produced a film about one of our work packages in order to seek informants for a study about experiences of coercion and pressure in connection with contacts with authorities.

You can find all the films here on our website and on our YouTube channel: Sivin-barn

2020

The first year of our research program has already passed. It has been an eventful first year and below you can read our annual report from the year 2020.

Start-up of work packages

The first year of the research program has been a time of start-up. The researchers in the various work packages (research projects) have worked to get all the jigsaw pieces in place for the research that is now underway.

During the past year, 9 of the program's 13 work packages have started up. Ethics applications have been approved, collaborations have begun and data collection has begun. The work packages deal with social support interventions, available research, sheltered housing, specialized teams, BRA-Samtal, iRiSk, crisis interventions and a longitudinal study on social service interventions.

National conference completed

In the task of communicating knowledge about the research area, conferences are an important part. On October 5, a national conference was held where Sivin-Barn collaborated with the Central Confederation of Social Work (CSA), which was the main organizer.

The conference participants had the opportunity to take part in interesting and rewarding lectures by Marianne Hester, Carl-Göran Svedin, Margareta Hydén and Mikael Thörn. During the afternoon of the conference, roughly 500 people participated in 21 parallel seminars. At the seminars, the important and interesting research project on how children and young people are affected by violence in close relationships was presented, and the participants could also take part in studies where interventions and methods of support were presented.

Website launched

On April 29, Sivin-Child's website was launched in Swedish and on November 23, our English-language version Sivin-Child was presented

An important part of Sivin-Child is communication with what is happening in the research program and the results the work packages generate.

In order to give the program good opportunities to reach out, during this first year we have created a website for the research program in Swedish and in English.

Here, visitors can, among other things, get more information about the work packages and take part in published results. We have also created pages on the website directly aimed at children and young people with age-appropriate information.

Do you have suggestions for things we should cover. Email the program's communicator Hélène Lagerlöf
