Research
The dissertation Church and Social Reform: Motivations for Diakonia 1845–1965 (2006) explores the underlying motives within Swedish institutional diakonia. A central research interest is the role of religion as a driving force behind social visions and welfare initiatives. Elisabeth is responsible for research on diakonia at the Department of Civil Society and Religion (ICR).
Teaching
Elisabeth teaches and offers courses in practical theology and the psychology of religion. Her teaching explores ecclesial expressions from both historical and contemporary perspectives, addressing the relationship between church and society, doctrinal development, liturgy, and faith as a psychological phenomenon.
Collaboration and Engagement
Elisabeth is affiliated with the Centre for Multidisciplinary Research on Religion (CRS) at Uppsala University and associated with the research group Diaconal Practices and Perspectives – Diaconal Community Development (DIAPP/CODE) at VID Specialized University in Oslo.
