An educational innovation concerning nursing in palliative care and end-of-life care

In this project, a serious game (learning game/computer game) is being developed where nursing students care for seriously ill and dying patients in a virtual environment. The virtual education about palliative care for nursing students is called Thinking and Linking, ELC (End-of-life care).

There is currently only a prototype, but the hope is that the computer game will eventually be included as a natural complement to the traditional teaching on Sweden’s nursing program. The game includes three parts: a knowledge part with self-correcting questions, the game itself, and a follow-up seminar with the opportunity for reflection.
