Eating without a home - how people living in homelessness experience food and meals

This project aims to explore the experiences and meanings of food and mealtimes for people living in homelessness while coping with severe illness.

Food is not only a prerequisite for survival and health, but also an important part of people's social life and well-being. Mealtimes can create security and strengthen relationships, but also evoke feelings of loneliness and exclusion. This study uses a qualitative design and gives voice to homeless people with care needs - a group whose experiences are often not taken into account by healthcare services. By exploring their experiences of food and meals, the study can provide valuable knowledge that can be used to develop support and interventions for this vulnerable group in society.
