Work area

Malin has a strong interest of the different ways people make sense of their life experiences. Since her dissertation in May 2010 sha have chosen to study people’s meaning making in relation to both health and illness. Malin have a broad interest in researching health and illness from an emic- etic perspective. This means that she intentionally focus her research towards a qualitative approach. Within this wider framework of qualitative studies she has chosen to direct my main focus towards lifeworld research and existential aspects of illness and health. Therefore her research has an interpretive stance on social reality and human meaning making. The phenomena in the studies are immersed in the natural setting of those persons whose thoughts and views she explore, with a focus on supporting a dignified life among persons who live with illness.

Malin has experience as course coordinator since 2002 and as examiner since 2010. Her teaching activities has included planning, examination, course evaluation and academic supervision of two to four final degree projects in the Program of nursing, and two to five final degree projects, advanced level/ specialist education in nursing. Malins teaching activities further include lecturing, seminars, and teaching on research level/ Ph.D. education. She have experience as Faculty program director of the master program in nursing, and as Faculty program director of the nursing program.
